Within Google\’s World …

Some Interesting Patents Won Today by Google’s Rivals …

Let's start off with Yahoo who was granted the patent — Systems and methods for implementing person-to-person money exchange. Filed in 2000, the patent is described in it's abstract as:

Systems and methods for effecting online financial transactions between individuals or between individuals and entities such as banks, merchants and other companies. Each user accesses a fund exchange server to establish an online account, which is used to transfer funds to and from other entities' online accounts. To fund an online account, funds can be transferred to the online account from a credit card account or from another online account.

To me, this sounds somewhat simillar to Google Wallet, GPurchases, GBuy, etc.  or atleast something along those lines 😉

Up comes 5 interesting patents (among a couple more) won by Microsoft today, namely, Wireless browserAutomatic republication of data, Dynamic site browser, Pen-based interface for a notepad computer and Methods and systems for accessing networks, methods and systems for accessing the internet. The wireless browser which has been described as a device for accessing data from an internet site and the latter patent thats talks a bit about service levels, bandwidth allocation and security measures for users, reminded me of Google's & Earthlink's WiFi city plans 🙂

  3. lol, there was an article on an it site, that microsoft BLUNTLY said that they were “…stacking up services against Google…” I guess they see Google as a potential rival, it’s interesting how quickly Google is rising and gaining a reputation in the IT world, I’d be scared [maybe] if i were Gates…*grins*
